Terry Siegrist Memorial Fund

Creation of the Terry Siegrist Memorial Fund

It was with great sadness that we all learned of the recent passing in December, 2021 of Terry Siegrist, City of Marina's Recreation and Cultural Services Director. Since our inception, The Marina Foundation has worked with Terry to identify and provide much needed programs for our Senior, Teen, and Youth communities. Terry created the "Box Theory" as a model to live by - to show how we, as individuals and our respective groups, could all work together with a common goal of keeping our kids "active and busy in a positive and healthy environment". The Marina Teen Center plays an integral part in this process. Our hope is that we can all help to continue the progress made by Terry and his team. Terry will be truly missed by us, and no doubt, the entire Marina community.

While we struggled with the news, The Marina Foundation has worked with his family and other Community leaders to create the Terry Siegrist Memorial Fund to honor him, starting with a pledge of $5,000. Terry was a true champion of our City’s youth and seniors, so this fund will reflect those values and work to help support the programs and needs he cared so much about.

Contributions can be made to the Terry Siegrist Memorial Fund (below) or by check made payable to: "The Marina Foundation", PO Box 324, Marina CA 93933. Please note "Terry Siegrist Memorial Fund" in the memo section.

We thank you in advance for your support in honoring Terry.

Celebration of Life for Terry - Saturday, May 21, 2022

All are invited to celebrate Terry Siegrist, City of Marina Recreation and Cultural Services Director, who left us too soon in December. Our community has felt Terry's impacts in so many ways, from Seniors to opportunities and care for our children, to getting food and more to those in need. Marina was his world, and he left it better! Bring a chair/blanket and your families to learn more and share your memories and see the messages & appreciation by Marina students. A special thank you to the City of Marina, The Marina Foundation, Shea Homes, Hindu Temple of the Monterey Peninsula, music by DJ John Upshaw and the band Rosewood, slideshow by Nick Kite, and to all the family, friends and volunteers who made this celebration possible for Terry.
