An overview of the accomplishments of this past year will be accompanied by light hors d'oeuvres and beverages. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. The Marina Foundation Tree Project to Benefit the Don Livermore Scholarship for Marina High School and the General Fund for Local Programs - 2010 The Marina Foundation is holding fundraising events for the Don Livermore Scholarship for Marina High School by selling trees and shrubs (such as red and green leaf maples, bougainvilleas, among other types, please see the trees page for a full list and photos) that will be used at the Mazda Laguna Seca Races throughout the year. Plants can be paid for online on our Donations page (#2, Don Livermore Scholarship for Marina High School) or upon pickup. The cost is a minimum donation of $30 for a 15 gallon container. The retail price of these plants is over $100+. Please make checks payable to: The Marina Foundation specifying: Don Livermore Scholarship and type of plant(s) you would prefer. Please note: we cannot guarantee availability of specific types of plants. Plants are sold on a "first come first serve" basis. Plants can also be purchased at the Marina Farmers' Market (Reservation Rd. and Del Monte Ave. in downtown Marina) on August 1st. All proceeds are tax deductible and support youth and community events and scholarships in Marina.

The Marina Foundation held it's inaugural reception for the Friends of the Foundation on Friday, May 21. The Foundation presented the goals and objectives to benefit Marina now and into the future. The recipients of the Don Livermore Scholarship for Marina High School were also recognized. Photos are on the Scholarships page.
Marina International Festival of the Winds Saturday, May 8 and Sunday, May 9, 2010 from 10a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Glorya Jean Tate Park, Marina State Beach and Marina Skate Park The Marina International Festival of the Winds celebrated its 11th year over Mother’s Day Weekend, May 8 and 9, 2010. The Festival had free admission and lots of wind-related activities and fun for the whole family. The Festival is a celebration of the wind and features kite flying, hang gliding, skate boarding, wind-related art and science projects, giant kite demonstrations, kite-making workshops, food, vendor and informational booths, live music and entertainment, and a giant inflatable air park. “Common Threads and Synergies” was the topic of the Marina Non-Profit Summit,
hosted by The Marina Foundation, on March 1st. All Marina non-profit
organizations were encouraged to send a representative to this summit to discuss
common goals, community event scheduling, and how The Marina Foundation can
benefit the non-profit community.
